There is a mixed school of thought on this topic. What makes a candle triple scented? Is it the scent load or is it the triple layering of fragrance notes within the fragrance oil cleverly constructed in the fragrance manufacturing process?

Fragrance Notes

Think of fragrances as musical masterpieces, where each scent is like a note. The possibilities are practically endless, and just like a talented composer, it takes a unique flair to blend these notes into something that truly captivates your senses.

  • TOP NOTES - The first scents that greet you are the top notes. These are often vibrant and citrusy, making an immediate and exhilarating impression, though they fade quickly.

  • MIDDLE NOTES - Next, the middle notes take the stage. Usually derived from aromatic flowers, they bring a rich, full-bodied character to the fragrance.

  • BASE NOTES - Finally, the base notes emerge. These are often woody scents that provide a deep, enduring foundation, lingering the longest and leaving a lasting impression.

Scent Load

While the recommended fragrance percentages in candle making typically range from 6% to 12% this can often result in a less than ideal fragrance throw when burning a candle and a disappointing purchase for candle buyers.

At Lulubell Candle Co. we produce all our candles with a much higher scent load than the average which has proven throughout the years to be a winning formula.

The key to achieving this without giving away too many secrets :) is rigorous testing with a unique soy based wax blend that allows a higher than average scent load in all our products. After all who wants an average candle when you can have the WOW Factor.

How long do your candles typically burn?

Our candles burn for approximately 60 hours. You will get the most from the life of your candle by following safe candle burning protocols.

What are the best practices for burning candles safely?

We want you to enjoy every moment of your Lulubell Scented Candle, however the use of candles requires caution and awareness of the associated risks, so please ensure you always follow these safety precautions.

  • Trim candlewicks to 5-7mm each time before burning.
  • Never burn a candle more than 4 hours at a one time.
  • Never burn a candle all the way down. Discontinue burning when no less than 10mm of wax remains in the container.
  • Extinguish a candle if the wick starts to loose its centre. Using a wick dipper move the wick to the centre and cool to reset the wax.
  • Keep burning candles away from furniture, drapes, bedding, carpets, etc.
  • Keep burning candles out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Be sure the candle is placed on a heat-resistant surface. This can help prevent heat damage to underlying surfaces.
  • Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at all times.
  • Never touch or move a burning candle or container candle when the wax is liquid.
  • Use a snuffer to extinguish a candle. It’s the safest way to prevent hot wax splatters.
  • Extinguish a candle if it smokes, flickers, or the flame becomes too high. Trim the wick, before relighting.
  • Never use a candle as a night light.

Can I return or exchange a candle if I'm not satisfied?

We do have a return policy if you wish to return a product you don't wish to keep. If the product is intact and unused, in this case the shipping cost for return is the buyers responsibility and refund or exchange can be processed once goods are received undamaged and in original condition.

A great way to ensure you order only your favourite fragrances and avoid returns is to try a Candle Sampler, this will allow you to try multiple fragrances before you purchase the large candles.

If you receive your order with damages please reach out to our customer service so we can take care of this for you. In this case a refund or replacement will be processed.
